Hey guys. So I know Clinton mentioned about Sam Jackson playing Nick Fury in NINE, count them NINE, movies for Marvel, but I thought I’d drop a couple of other bits of stuff.

1. Iron Man 2: For those who may not have heard, booze has been confirmed to be the primary antagonist of Tony Stark for the upcoming movie. If you didn’t see this coming, then you should probably just go away. However, apparently the girl who was supposed to play the Black Widow has been dropped. While no official reeason has been given, it is rumored to be due to an inability to make Communism sexy.

2. Thor: Will be casting soon! Maybe. Tell your 6’6″ Norweigan friends.

3. Wolverine: Three new videos have been airing both on TV, and now online. They each provide new footage, including the first to show Deadpool talking. Personally I’m a big fan of the fact that they’re pretty much going with the initial backstory from Wolverine: Origin, you know the whole rich sickly kid who’s dad gets killed part, minus the whole Canadian Jean Grey thing. Also apparently Sabretooth and Wolverine are the real reason the Union won the Civil War. One thing that concerns me though is that Gambit, instead of throwing his cards, seems to be making them float and telekinetically projecting them or something. Maybe. I’m not sure, but it looked weird. Check out all three clips at comicbookmovie.com.

4. Suicide Squad: Is rumored to be getting a movie. Really Warner Brothers? You can’t hold it together for Wonder Woman or the Flash, you can’t deliver a truly epic Superman movie, you haven’t touched other prominient property, like Green Arrow or Aquaman, but you’re willing to give Deadshot and Co. their own film?

Other: On the subject of Dark Reign, it seems pretty cool from what I’ve read, but I’ve been thinking recently. See, I understand that it is “Dark” because Internation Man of Jackassery Norman Osborn is running the show, along with the Dark Illuminati and H.A.M.M.E.R. (the fact that he came up with acronym before coming up with what it stands for is awesome by the way), but I guess I’d like to see him doing some good things. I’m not saying I want him to be a good guy. Far from it. I’m just saying that he wouldn’t just be put into a high ranking government position and then use it to work his evil. I want to see some of him using his power to not only solidfy his control over the world, but also to try and clean it up, albeit with harsh crackdown methods. I think it would make for more interesting storytelling, and allow for them to get as much as possible out of the story. I have faith in Brian Michael Bendis. Maybe Norman can start by putting an end to all of this Red Hulk (Rulk?) foolishness.

Also, can I just say how awesome it is that baseball is starting again? Granted its Spring Training, but still. Baseball is back. Woo-Hoo!

Check back in tomorrow when I might have a review of Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li if you’re good.

With a Dark Knight sequel still a ways away and Justice League and Superman movies stalled, it appears DC and Warner Bros have pushed Green Lantern to top spot in line for next DC movie to come out.  Variety is reporting that Martin Campbell is set to direct the movie and is currently in negotiations right now to finalize the deal.  Campbell’s work includes Goldeneye, Casino Royale, and the Zorro movies.  Greg Berlanti worked on the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.  Green’s work includes Heroes and Superman/Batman and Guggenheim is a solid writer whose works include runs on Wolverine and Amazing Spider-Man.  Overall, I’d say the movie appears to be in good hands.

Disney is going to release X-Men:  The Animated Series on dvd April 28.  There’s not much info except that Volumes 1 and 2 are coming out and each has 2 discs.  Hopefully this will be a proper release with all of the episodes and not just select ones.  Either way, this is at least a good step in getting one of the best cartoons out on dvd.

And as such, we heard the movie is officially coming out on its original release date of March 6, 2009!
